Kuroda Shigeki was born in Kanagawa Prefecture in 1953, and he graduated from Tama
Art University (where he teaches part-time). He started printmaking in 1972.
The bicycle-and-umbrella theme has remained prominent ever since, but he has also
made etchings and aquatints with other subjects.
