Okamoto Shōgo 岡本省吾, 1920-2001.
Shōgo Okamoto was born in Tokyo in 1920. He graduated from Tokyo School of Fine Arts in 1943 with a degree in painting, and began concentrating on etchings in the 1960s. Trees proved his favorite subject, and his skillful compositions beautifully capture the interplay of branches in light and shadow.
