Manabu Kōchi 幸地学, 1954-
Born in Okinawa, Kōchi Manabu is a painter and sculptor living in Paris since 1981.
He studied at the Tokyo Zokei Art University and Musashino Art University in
Tokyo. He further pursued his studies in Italy from 1979-1981 at the Academia
Belle Arti in Florence where he studied classical art. His focus then shifted
to the contemporary art world. Kōchi's style is a blend of his
own unique vision and influences from primitive art to Surrealism and CoBrA.
