While I watch the moon go down,
a crow caws through the frost;
Under the shadows of maple-trees
a fisherman moves with his torch;
And I hear, from beyond Suzhou,
from the temple on Cold Mountain,
Ringing for me, here in my boat,
the midnight bell.

夜 姑 江 月
半 苏 枫 落
钟 城 渔 乌
声 外 火 啼
到 寒 对 霜
客 山 愁 满
船 寺 眠 天
