Inami Tadashi:

Inami_Tadeshi_photo (7K) Born in Kanazawa on March 10th, the first son of Kirokusai, a Kaga Maki-e craftsman. Inami Tadashi studied lacquerware art with Yamazaki Kakutaro. In 1946, he exhibited in the 2nd Nitten for the first time. In 1953, he became head of Wajima Lacquerware Research Center and continued serving in this position while developing new lacquerware designs for the next 15 years. He received the Hokuto Award in the Nitten both in 1967 and in 1969. In 1982, he received the Hokkoku Cultural Award. He is now a Nitten director, a counselor for the Japan Modern Crafts Artists Association, a director for the Ishikawa Art Culture Association, permanent director for the Japan Lacquer Craft Association, and a director for the Japan Cultural Properties Urushi Association.
